Keirsten Maheia, BSN, RN, is a nurse leader, community advocate, and founder with over 13 years of experience in healthcare. She is known for serving with purpose and bringing both compassion and clinical expertise into every space she enters. Her background has shaped her strong commitment to equitable, patient-centered care and making a meaningful impact beyond the bedside.

While currently pursuing her Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner, Keirsten remains deeply passionate about advancing women’s health and empowering women to take control of their physical and mental wellness. She believes that true healing goes beyond clinical settings and begins in communities where education, access, and support are present.

As the Founder and President of Baltimore Inspire Her, Keirsten has created a space dedicated to uplifting and mentoring young women. Through her leadership, she focuses on building confidence, encouraging resilience, and helping young women recognize their strength and walk boldly in their purpose. Her work is rooted in the belief that every young woman deserves to feel supported, empowered, and seen.

Grounded in service and driven by impact, Keirsten continues to bridge healthcare and community empowerment—using her voice, her experience, and her platform to inspire growth, leadership, and lasting change.

Dr. Tamala Choice serves as the Vice President of the Board for Baltimore Inspire HER. In this role, she provides strategic leadership, supports organizational growth, and advances initiatives that foster confidence, education, and personal development among the populations served.

Dr. Choice holds a Ph.D. in Public Policy and Administration with an emphasis in health policy and brings over 25 years of experience in the federal government. Her expertise spans health systems, policy development, and program and project management, with a strong foundation in operations and strategic execution. She has led national initiatives focused on improving health outcomes, particularly through clinical data systems, health information technology, and immunization programs.

Throughout her career, Dr. Choice has demonstrated a commitment to advocacy, leadership, and service, leveraging her experience to guide impactful programs and support mission-driven organizations. Her work on the board reflects her dedication to empowering young women, promoting equity, and creating pathways for long-term success.

Kemi Fasehun is a federal program management professional with extensive experience in operations, compliance, stakeholder coordination, and process improvement. In her role within the federal government, she has led and supported initiatives focused on safety program oversight, workspace and facilities management, stakeholder coordination, and organizational efficiency—ensuring high standards of accountability and effective execution across multiple teams.

Kemi applies this expertise in her role as Administrative Assistant for Baltimore Inspire HER where she supports operations, program coordination, and organizational initiatives that empower women and girls across the Baltimore community. She plays a key role in ensuring programs are structured, well-executed, and aligned with the organization’s mission.

Jennifer Goodwin isa registered nurse driven by a passion for people and the stories that shape their lives. Curiosity guides much of who I am. I look for new experiences, perspectives and opportunities to learn and grow. Meditation and meaningful relationships keep me grounded and I bring that steady intentional energy into the spaces that I enter. As a mentor, I'd like to help young women discover their voices, recognize their strengths and navigate their own journeys with confidence and purpose.

I’m Octavia Smith, MSN, RN-BC, and my role at Baltimore Inspire Her focuses on community engagement and partnership advocacy. I'm passionate about empowering and mentoring young girls and women from diverse backgrounds. Since joining the organization in 2026,I've aimed to build lasting partnerships with community organizations, schools, local government, and businesses dedicated to supporting the growth of young women.

With over 15 years of experience in healthcare and education, my background includes roles as a med-surg nurse, ICU nurse, and nursing supervisor. Currently, I work as a clinical instructor at Coppin State University and as a nurse educator at Chase Brexton Healthcare.This experience has made me acutely aware of the challenges many women face and the transformative power of mentorship. I strive to bridge the gap for young women and girls, advocating for their equal and inclusive rights.

When I'm not working with BaltimoreInspire Her, I love crocheting or singing karaoke in Baltimore, Maryland. I truly believe in the potential of every individual, and it's a privilege to be part of this incredible journey!
